Where and How we Fish

Voyageur Charters normally leaves from the marina in Knife River, MN fishing the waters just north of Duluth to north of Two Harbors, MN. Where we are fishing depends on the clients’ interests and where the fish are currently active.

The Gina Marie is a very versatile fishing vessel equipped with the latest fishing equipment. With a very large fishing area, she provides plenty of area to fight your fish.

She can be found trolling the deep waters with downriggers, top water trolling with planer boards, and working every depth in between with a variety of fishing techniques. There are even times when jigging or shallow water trolling proves to be the best method of fishing — and we are ready for whatever the big lake provides!

We prefer to supply our clients with fishing rods and reels on the light side in order to give you a good fight!

We will be targeting lake trout, coho salmon, king salmon, pink salmon and steelhead. Occasionally, we also catch brown trout and walleye.
